Emerald Dance Classes for Reception Children in Hook

Emerald is KBDA’s dance foundation programme for Reception-age children in Hook, Hampshire.

These 60-minute Reception dance classes introduce children to ballet, tap, modern and creative movement. Through a varied and carefully structured programme, children develop coordination, musicality, balance, movement recall and physical confidence.

Children begin to learn dance vocabulary, remember short movement sequences and work both independently and with others. Imaginative activities and creative tasks keep the learning age-appropriate while helping children become more focused, confident and independent.

Emerald provides a strong foundation for children who want to continue with ballet, tap and modern dance, while remaining welcoming to complete beginners. No previous dance experience is required.

An optional Mini Musical Theatre class is also available on Saturday mornings. Children explore singing, acting and dance while developing confidence, communication and performance skills.

Families are invited to Watch Days during the year, offering an opportunity to see what their child has been learning and how they are progressing. Children also receive a certificate upon completing each stage of the KBDA Junior School programme.
