About KBDA
Karen Blackburn Dance Academy has been part of the Hook community since 2000, welcoming dancers from nursery age through to teenagers and adults.
We believe that high-quality dance training should recognise the individual. Some students come to KBDA to enjoy one class each week, while others progress through examinations, performances, competitions, or pre-vocational training. Our role is to help each dancer find the level of challenge, commitment and opportunity that is right for them.
Students can explore Ballet, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Acro and Street Dance. Classes combine strong technical foundations with creativity and performance, giving dancers opportunities to build confidence, develop their own strengths and work towards meaningful goals.
KBDA is an established school with ambitious standards, but it is also a community. Students are known by their teachers, encouraged to support one another and given space to grow at their own pace. Whether a child is taking their first steps or beginning to consider a future in the performing arts, we want them to feel that they have a place here.
Our Story
Karen Blackburn Dance Academy is an established theatre dance school in Hook, Hampshire, welcoming students from their first class through to advanced and pre-vocational training.
Since 2000, we have combined strong technical foundations with creativity, performance and individual guidance. Students can train in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Acro and Street Dance, choosing recreational, examination and performance opportunities as their interests develop.
Whether a student dances once a week or is working towards a future in the performing arts, they are known, challenged and supported at KBDA.
