Year Two
Dance Classes

Nurture your child’s growth through our Year 2  Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street Dance, Musical Theatre, Acro and Creative Movement classes designed to boost confidence, coordination, and imagination.

Dance Education for
Year Two Children

Our Core Foundations Programme is specially designed for Year 2 students, marking a key transition from Junior School to Main School dance training at KBDA. Located in Hook, Hampshire, we focus on developing Tap and Modern dance skills through the respected ISTD syllabus, helping students build strong technique, musicality, and confidence.

As an affiliated school of the Royal Ballet School’s Affiliate Teacher Training and Assessment Programme (ATAP), KBDA now offers Ballet as a separate class for Year 2 dancers. This introduces the first level of the ATAP syllabus, laying the foundation for a structured two-year progression in classical ballet.

To support well-rounded dance development, students can also attend weekday Acro classes, which focus on essential skills such as rolls, handstands, bridges, and cartwheels. These classes enhance coordination, control, and flexibility, complementing their core dance training.

For children eager to explore new styles, KBDA proudly offers Mini Street and Mini Musical Theatre classes on Wednesday evenings, perfect for expanding dance genres and nurturing creativity in a fun and supportive environment.

At the completion of this stage, each dancer is awarded a Graduation Certificate, recognising their hard work and growth as they prepare to progress from Junior School into KBDA’s Main School.
